Latitude graphic is the North-South coordinate of geographic coordinates:
  • latitude graphic [phi] (- 90° S - +90° N)
    • -90° S: south pole
    • +90° N: north pole
    • -90 °S - 0°: southern hemisphere
    • 0° - +90°: northern hemisphere
Coordinate lines of constant latitude are called parallels (circle of latitude). The coordinate line with graphic= 0° is the equator.
