Coordinate Reference System - CRS

Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS) are coordinate systems in combination with a spatial datum to describe spatial position through spatial coordinates.

Specific types of coordinate reference systems are:

geodetic coordinate reference systems with a specific geodetic earth model and its spatial datum
projected coordinate reference systems with an underlying map projection and its spatial datum
others
